Wrightsville Beach is a tiny island situated east of the City of Wilmington. There is a lot of history on this island, dating back to the late 1700s. Today this small island has a few stores, eateries and hotels, but it’s primarily residential. It is also home to a striking white sand beach, dunes, giant stone jetties, birds, fish, dolphins, and is visited by fishermen, surfers, and regular folk. Wrightsville Beach hosts the Shell Island Resort, the Oceanic, Johnny Mercer’s Pier and breathtaking views. Parking is at a premium here so if you see a spot, be sure to grab it and don’t forget to pay!
