Tubb’s Shrimp & Fish Co., Florence, SC

The Tubb’s Crab Rangoon….

After a day of stalking alligators, osprey, and other wildlife at the Santee National Wildlife Refuge a girl can work up an appetite. Y’all know I like to eat and y’all know I try to avoid chain restaurants as much as possible, right? When presented with the typical Olive Garden, Outback Steakhouse, or Longhorn Steakhouse restaurants I was desparately seeking something local.

Get a taste of this menu!

Bang bang Shrimp with Comeback Sauce. They call it “comeback Sauce” because they know you’re going to want to came back to eat there again!

My quest led me to Tubb’s Shrimp & Fish Co. Tubb’s isn’t right off I-95 like the chain restaurants I was trying to avoid. Only a few miles past the mall in Florence, this place was a much better option! Tubb’s is a small, relaxed spot to grab a bite to eat. Obviously it’s a local fav, because it was busy with a steady flow of takeout orders.

Look at those shrimp!

One slurp of their she-crab soup and you’ll know why. Or maybe it’s a bite of a piping hot crab rangoon that does it? No matter what the reason is, this savory, perfectly seasoned seafood is on time.

Creamy She Crab Soup with a drizzle of sherry…heavenly.

Next time you’re heading up or down I-95 in South Carolina, take a little bit of extra time to visit a local restaurant that’s committed to serving fresh, flavorful Southern seafood. You’ll thank me.

Chunky, sweet crab in every bite of soup.

    • Hi Gabbi!

It was such a great meal in a tiny, off the beaten path restaurant. The shrimp were amazing!
