Fairmont Empress, Victoria, BC

The Empress reflecting on Victoria Harbor.

Heading to Victoria, British Columbia or thinking of going? You absolutely should! Victoria is a perfect combination of old and new, old-fashioned and fresh, traditional and hip. The weather is perfect, the people are friendly and there are many sights to see, things to do, and places to eat. There is so much to love!

However, if you’re staying there the Fairmont Empress is the only place to stay. With sweeping views of the harbor, the Empress is centrally located in the harbor area and flanked with an expansive lawn and picturesque flower beds beaconing you towards the door.

Once you glide through the doors the Empress really pours on the glitz. It’s as if you took a step back in time to the age of Hollywood glamour. The elegant lobby, the coordinated dining areas, and luxurious guest rooms are all part of a recent $60 million renovation which was completed a few months ago. All I can say is WOW… Boy, did they nail this renovation.

Whether you’re sipping a beverage at the Q Bar, noshing on food at the Q at the Empress, partaking of the iconic high tea at the Lobby Lounge, or pampering your tootsies at the Willow Stream Spa, you won’t be disappointed.

The table is set for high tea, served on the exclusive Empress Tea China.

The guest rooms are plush and the spa-like feel of the marble bathrooms will leave you feeling spoiled at the end of a long day of touring the city.
