Who doesn’t like juicy burgers and seasoned fries?!? Well, vegetarians I suppose, but they don’t know what they are missing!!! If you are in Wilmington (NC of course) and have a hankerin’ for a burger, PT’s Olde Fashioned Grille is the place to burger-up!
There are several locations for PT’s, but I’ve only eaten at the one close to UNC Wilmington on Fountain Drive. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and both are very clean (a definite plus!). The menu is pretty simple-burgers, dogs, chicken, fries, soda, and lemonade. When you arrive you are greeted by one of several employees. To get started, grab an order pad and get to ordering! I went for the 8 ounce burger, loaded with yumminess such as tomato, lettuce, mayo, onions, ketchup, and pickles, a side of seasoned fries, and a drink, which is all included with your meal. I can’t tell you about dogs or chicken, because why would I try them when I can eat this burger!?! I can’t think of a good reason, so why ruin a perfect thing?
Outside, the sun is shining and a pleasant breeze is blowing. You can see the flames shoot up from the grille while sitting on the patio. People are steadily strolling in for a late lunch. After patiently waiting a short time my burger is ready! Melty cheese running down the side of the patty. Steaming hot fries are waiting to be dunked in some ketchup. If you could only taste this most delish burger with that mix of hot, freshly cooked patty and melty cheese and all the accoutrements. PT’s also does this cute thing to their buns-they grill their logo into the top! It doesn’t add to the flavor, which is awesome already, but it adds just a little something extra. Burger and fries safely down my gullet, I am ready to go explore some of the other wonders of Wilmington!
